ABOUT BUY THE SEA DESIGNS
What?
Vintage and antique linens, thrifted, restored, repurposed, to be reloved.
Some original. Some with sea glass sewn on. Some with embroidered accents.
All make unique gifts for any occasion.
Where?
Essex, MA, a famous antique destination.
Located in coastal New England, home to many antique/thrift shops and flea markets, including the famous Todd Farm in Rowley.

How?
We search for linens in all the places mentioned above including estate sales.
They are gently cleaned and repaired.
All of our sea glass is genuine New England surf tumbled. It is gathered on local beaches,
including neighboring Manchester by the Sea.
Any embroidery added is hand sewn.
Why?
The modern movement to a disposable lifestyle led to reusable linens being discarded.
We have been on a mission to rescue and restore as many as possible.
We have had more success than failures.
Most mid-century handkerchiefs are machine wash and dry.
Many linens are lovely unironed and starch is often the cause of those ugly yellow stains!
