A trip to Rockport recently led us to the UU Thrift Shop, of the Unitarian Universalist Church. This thrift shop has been elusive because parking in Rockport is not easy, and they are only open until noon so we were happy to finally visit. We were pleasantly surprised at their prices. Having been across the street at a church fair where the pricing was high it was fun to grab a couple of bargains before heading out of town. This shop is clean and tidy, not curated (yay!). They do not carry clothing but have a lovely jewelry section, lots of homeware/kitchen items, a children’s area, books and an art area to peruse. The staff was welcoming and helpful. It is a seasonal shop that opens in May. The shop is located at 4 Cleaves Street, on street parking with meters and pay stations available. Another option is to use the shuttle (seasonal, park at the Blue Gate Meadow parking lot, rt. 127) and enjoy a scenic ride to Bearskin Neck. $1/person each way, children under five free). Once you get off the trolley the shop is a short walk up Main St. and there is a lot to experience along the way.
No bathroom onsite but Rockport has a wonderful visitor center (with a view of Motif #1!)
