Do you enjoy finding bargains at the Kittery outlet stores? You need to travel a few miles north to find some vintage treasures. This week "Hidden Treasures" is featured as our New England thifting recommendation. It is a super place for vintage clothing and just about anything else. If you don't know what's inside, it is easy to just cruise on by. The building doesn't look like your normal antique/thrift shop, at first glance it appears to be an auto repair shop. Don't let it fool you! You will find sparkling sombreros next to red & black flannel jackets, lots of vintage tees, fishing paraphernalia, vinyls, stoneware, and just about anything else you can think of. A couple of unique blue willow pieces we spotted were a ceramic egg and set of grumpy salt & pepper shakers. I regret not buying those): There was a beautiful chip and dish vintage piece. There is a vendor that sells linens, so I always stop by that booth. What did I buy? A bag of vintage linens for $6, looked like there were 6 hankies mixed in so well worth the price. (Note - There were at least 12 hankies hidden among other pieces with staining that disapeared after soaking. The bag was so much fun to unpack once home. This is what thrifting is all about <3)
Located on US Route 1 (#26) York, Maine. Open every day 10 AM - 6 PM. Easy parking in their lot. Staff is helpful and friendly, not just saying that, this shop has really nice staff.
No bathroom onsite but the outlet malls are close and next week we will have a couple of other places close by that have bathrooms for your trip planning.
